Discover and Share Fresh Content

“What should I post this week?”

If you’ve ever stared at your social media accounts asking yourself this question, you’re not alone.

Creating and finding enough content to maintain an active social media presence is one of the biggest challenges we hear from our customers.

That’s why we built Feeds — a new Buffer feature that brings fresh content from your favorite websites directly into your Buffer account.

What are Feeds?

Think of it as the bridge between the content you love reading and the content your audience will love seeing. You can add feeds from your favorite blogs and websites, and their latest posts will automatically appear in your feed collections, ready to be shared with your audience.

How does it work?

It’s refreshingly simple:

  1. Add RSS feeds from your favorite websites to Buffer.
  2. Browse through the latest posts from these sources.
  3. Select the content you want to share.
  4. Customize your post and schedule it.

Too many feeds to keep track of? Creating Collections can help you keep everything organized.

Why we built this

We’ve learned something interesting from talking with our customers: while creating original content is important, sharing your thoughts on content from other sources is equally crucial for building an engaged audience.

Whether you’re a small business owner, a social media manager, or someone building your personal brand, having a mix of original and curated content helps keep your social media presence active and engaging.

But finding and sharing that content takes time. If you’re like many of our users, you probably:

  • Spend hours searching for relevant content to share
  • Keep multiple tabs open with different blogs and news sites
  • Manually copy and paste links into your social media tools
  • Struggle to maintain a consistent posting schedule

Feeds help solve these challenges by bringing content discovery and sharing into one easy workflow.

Some ways you can use Feeds

Our community has found some creative ways to use Feeds:

  • A local board games store uses it to share news about upcoming releases and gaming events.
  • A real estate agent curates market trend updates to keep their audience informed.
  • A tech professional builds their personal brand by sharing industry insights.
  • Marketing agencies use it to maintain active social media presence for their clients.
  • Bloggers automatically share their latest posts across all their social channels.

And here’s a pro tip; did you know that YouTube channels have RSS feeds? You can find them by viewing the page source in your browser and searching for “RSS”.

For example, here’s Buffer’s YouTube RSS feed.

Getting started

Ready to try it out? Feeds are available on all Buffer plans, including the Free plan.

Here’s how to get started:

  1. Log into your Buffer account
  2. Head to the new “Feeds” section
  3. Add your first feed (don’t worry if you’re not sure where to start – we’ve included some suggested feeds to help you out)
