Automation should feel magical, whether you’re a seasoned wizard or just discovering your powers. That’s why we’ve refreshed the Zap editor’s design to give you a faster, more polished Zap-building experience.

We’ve also added new ways to expand your automation powers, like AI-powered Custom Actions and Zapier Central’s new Slack integration. Here are our latest product updates to make the magic happen:

Jump ahead:

Refreshed Zap editor design

We’ve upgraded the editor’s design to give you a faster, more intuitive Zap-building experience—whether you’re a seasoned wizard build your 50-step masterpiece or a newbie exploring the magic of automation for the first time.

What’s changed:

  • Easier navigation between Zap-specific settings and editor controls. We revamped the top and sidebar menus so you spend less time digging for what you need, whether it’s renaming your Zap or accessing our help resources. Editing a complex Zap with multiple paths? Now you can expand or collapse all paths with a single click.

  • Find apps in an orderly fashion. We’ve reorganized the app selector so you can quickly access your frequently used apps, built-in tools, and Zapier products. If you’re just getting started with Zapier, don’t worry: We’ve also made it easier to discover apps on our platform.

  • Swap between Zapier products. Need to update something in Canvas or check a table after publishing a Zap? Now you can switch between Zapier products in the dropdown menu to create, maintain, or update your automated processes from start to finish—all without disrupting your flow.

Automation shouldn’t be an eyesore either, so we made some smaller design tweaks to polish the editor’s appearance and performance.

See what’s new in the editor: Create a Zap now.

Fill gaps with AI-powered Custom Actions

Imagine this: You’re creating a Zap but discover an app integration doesn’t have the necessary action. You find some workarounds but need the technical know-how to use webhooks and API Request action. What now?

Good news: Now, you can bust those app limits with AI-powered Custom Actions. Currently in beta, Custom Actions lets you create the actions you need within existing app integrations—no webhook or API knowledge required.

Let’s say you want to create out-of-office events in Google Calendar so it automatically declines existing events. With Custom Actions, you can describe what you want your action to do, and AI Copilot will handle the rest.

Ready to expand your automation powers in your favorite apps? Try Custom Actions now.

Work with Zapier Central assistants in Slack

Zapier Central (currently in beta) lets you teach AI assistants to handle tasks automatically—with or without you— across your favorite apps. Try it now for free.

Many of us have to temporarily mute Slack to be productive. But with Zapier Central’s new Slack integration, you can partner up with your personal AI assistants to get work done—without leaving your workspace.

Once you connect your Central assistant to Slack, you can message them like any other teammate. But unlike your coworkers, your Central assistants will run behaviors, look up data, and complete tasks across thousands of Zapier integrations.

Cut the chat context-switching: Add Zapier Central to Slack.

Automation that looks and feels magical

We’re always adding new features and updates to make automation work for you, from simple Zaps to sophisticated systems that scale. Check out our Product Updates page for the latest release notes.
